![]() ![]() ![]() What that means is that we are in a bit of a transition. We are trying to ween ourselves off the Adobe Cloud subscription. For bitmap graphics we use Pixelmator, Affinity Photo, and sometimes Adobe Photoshop. For vector-based graphics we use AutoDesk Graphic, Affinity Designer, and sometimes Adobe Illustrator. It has been a total delight to go back to a page layout application that feels like home. Today, most of our page layout is done in QuarkXPress. It's ugly and jaggy and left us cursing and weeping. The showstopper with InDesign was its screen rendering. We initially looked at Adobe InDesign for page layout and produced some materials. A saga occasionally punctuated with a combination of cursing and weeping salty tears of despair. That began the saga of finding a replacement. With El Capitan, Apple broke hyphenation in Pages 4.x and Pages 5.x lost some required capabilities. It was just precise enough to get the job done. But, from 2009 to 2015 The Foundation primarily used Mac OS X, Pages version 4.3 - iWork ’09, for page layout. We've been using graphic applications ever since. Our digital design experience dates way back to 1984 with LinoType systems, then in 1988 Macintosh computers using Illustrator 88, Photoshop Version 1, and QuarkXPress. Original, digital artwork for posters and handouts can be provided to organizations that have signed a “Notice of Intent” or a “Memorandum of Understanding” with The “I Love U Guys” Foundation.
